Answers to Unattended Death Cleanup FAQs

September 7, 2017 by Jeremy Dalton

We have been providing unattended death cleanups in Western Washington for 20 years at this point, so we have a great deal of hands-on experience to draw from. You can definitely count on Bio Clean if you ever need this type of service, and we are very sensitive when it comes to the human element, because we know how hard it can be to lose a loved one.

There are a number of questions that we are often asked about unattended death scene cleanups. We like to share information, so this blog post will be dedicated to answering some frequently asked questions about this aspect of our business.

Is an unattended death cleanup expensive?

Our founder, Theresa Borst, got into this business because she sincerely wanted to help people during very difficult times. Because of our commitment to service, we go the extra mile to provide value-based pricing. Plus, property insurance will often cover the cost of a death scene cleanup. Since we have so much experience handling these cases, we can help you understand how to proceed from an insurance standpoint.

What are your hours of operation?

Death does not have a schedule. We understand the fact that you may happen upon an unattended death scene at any time. Our company is committed to the well-being of the people in the communities we serve, so we are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays.

Do you have insurance and certifications?

This a good question, because it takes a particular brand of expertise to effectively respond to unattended death cleanup scenarios. We have all the necessary licenses and certifications, and we are fully insured.

Can you clean out the entire home of the deceased?

We can make sure that affected areas are safely and effectively cleaned, sanitized, and decontaminated when we respond to an unattended death cleanup scene. However, we also specialize in hoarder cleanup work, so we do have the ability to gather up and haul away unwanted items. This would include large, heavy objects that may be left behind in the yard or storage shed, like junk cars and appliances.
